Here's my little entry for @littleblackkatcreative Draw this in your own style. I loved doing this little illustration, I changed the colours to be a little bit more blue to match a little budgie I had as a teenager. He was the sweetest little bird with this amazing teal & aqua colouring along with the green back.

Looking forward to getting stuck into this little gem! I started reading it this week and realised I have a fear of sketchbooks. I have them, I start them but it takes me a while to actually start drawing in them. The more expensive the sketchbook is, the less likely I am to start drawing in it. I also don’t like making a mess in my sketchbooks, I seem to have this thing that if I’m not making something beautiful it’s not work the doing. BUT after starting to read @emmablockillustration book, I realised that we’re not all meant to make beautiful art all the time, sometimes it’s okay to try new things, make mistakes and just play to discover new things. So far my favourite quote from the book is “sketchbooking is the gift you give your future self” hopefully I’ll stop looking at a sketchbook as the place to only make beautiful art and start looking at it as a place to play and document ideas for future work. #sketchbooks
